Experiement: Jean Jacket

I have this old jean jacket. I think I got it in about 2001.

5.31

It's been getting a bit faded, though. So I thought I'd dye it darker. Trying to not think about all the freaky chemicals it contains, I bought a package of Rit in Jean Blue and used the washing machine method described inside the box to dye the jacket.

Re-dyed jacket

I have slightly mixed feelings about the result. I wish it was a bit darker, more toward indigo. But I'm going to go with it as it is, for now.

I think if you wash it a couple of times the color fades enough to not look so blue. I've used that dye before.
(And I remember that coat!)
